Corrections Policy

Corrections should identify the page, the issue, the source, and the date checked. Material corrections should be reflected in the update log.

What counts as material

A correction is material when it changes a reader decision: an official source, a safety warning, a quote-prep step, a calculator assumption, a privacy instruction, a checklist item, or a claim about provider or agency requirements.

Correction workflow

  1. Record the page URL and claim.
  2. Check the strongest available source.
  3. Revise the page or add a limitation note.
  4. Update the page date or update log when the change is material.

Reader reports

Reports should avoid private details. Redact names, exact addresses, account numbers, building codes, private messages, faces, and license plates before sending evidence.
